Google Drive

Connect your firm's Google Drive account and sync a matter's documents with a Drive folder — in both directions. Files you upload to Infera Law can be pushed out to the folder, and files added to the folder from outside Infera Law can be pulled in.

How Infera Law Accesses Your Drive

Infera Law connects to Google Drive using Google's drive.file scope, which limits access to only the files and folders you explicitly grant. Infera Law never gets blanket access to your whole Drive.

In practice, this means you grant access by picking a folder in Google's own Picker — both when you first connect a matter to a folder and each time you pull new files from it.

Connecting Your Firm's Account

  1. Open the firm's Integrations page (see Integrations)
  2. On the Google Drive card, click Connect
  3. Sign in to Google and approve access
  4. You're returned to Infera Law, and the card shows Connected along with the account's email address

Connecting a Matter to a Folder

  1. On the matter's Documents tab, click Connect a folder
  2. If your firm has more than one connected integration, choose Google Drive
  3. Select the destination folder in Google's Picker — picking the folder is also what grants Infera Law access to it
  4. Optionally check Automatically push new client uploads to this folder
  5. Click Use this folder

The toolbar now shows a chip with the Google Drive folder name, plus sync controls.

Syncing Documents

  • Push — click the push icon to send the matter's documents to the Drive folder
  • Pull — click the pull icon to bring in new files added to the folder from outside Infera Law. Pulling reopens the Picker so you can re-confirm the folder; under the drive.file scope, that re-confirmation is what grants Infera Law access to files added since the folder was last picked.
  • Auto-push — toggle Auto-push new uploads (from the folder chip's ⋮ menu, or when connecting the folder) so newly uploaded or received documents are pushed to the folder automatically

Changing or Removing a Folder Connection

Click the ⋮ menu next to the connected folder to:

  • Change folder… — pick a different Drive folder for this matter
  • Disconnect folder — stop syncing this matter. The firm's Google Drive connection stays active for other matters.
